The Perfect Place to start for young learners between 5-9 years

Our Explorers program is built for little learners providing foundational music education through fun style and social learning.

This means your little one will join these exciting classes with other keen learners to navigate the start of their musical journey together.

Explorers will learn a wide variety of foundational music concepts including note reading, note names, pitch, rhythm, teamwork, performance, playing together and develop confidence in their musicianship and self.

They will discover these skills through practical application on singing, guitar/ukulele, drums/percussion and piano.

The Explorer’s curriculum is unique to Replay Music Academy and also follows our studio learning quarters: technique, interaction, creation and performance with an emphasis on interactive and visual learning opportunities and plenty of communication updates to ensure you, the parent, are in the loop.

The best part is once the students have explored all of the different instruments on offer they will then get to pick which one they enjoy the most. They will not only have some pre-learned skills on the instrument they choose but a strong foundation in music theory that they can apply to any instrument.

This is helpful when moving onto our higher level of education in our Establish program.

Why Explorers Classes?

Check out all of the reasons why Explorers classes are right for your little one!

Learn skills on Multiple Instruments – This is a crucial feature of this program. Children at this age often start music lessons thinking it’s what they like, only to discover they much prefer a different instrument! Explorer classes take the guesswork out of the process, allowing students to learn singing/piano/ukulele/guitar/drums, and percussion skills so they can discover the perfect instrument for them.

Alternating Curriculum – We know children at this age can get bored easily! Explorers cycle through all of the program's instruments every three weeks, so our students are always learning something new and exciting.

Monthly EnrollmentWe know kids change their minds faster than Melbourne changes its weather. This is why all of our memberships run month to month, so you can decide how long you would like to learn with us. Simply give us two weeks’ notice before your next monthly billing period if you wish to stop. It’s as easy as that.

Outcome-based curriculum – Our teachers work with students to complete skill achievements as part of student’s progress. You will see exactly where your hard work is taking you and what options are available to expand your musical knowledge and move through our progression pathway.

Life Skills – Music helps us develop as human beings, and we have fully embraced this at the academy, helping students with life skills such as: Goal setting and achievement, persistence, patience, discipline, dedication, responsibility, literacy and numeracy, public speaking, organisation, resilience as well as boosting attention to detail, social skills, self-esteem, and confidence. Playing and listening to music can also have therapeutic benefits for some people. The list goes on and on!

Inclusive Community – How we perceive and enjoy music is as unique to us as we are as people. We invite all students and families of any age, background, religion, gender, and belief to come and enjoy music here at Replay Music Academy.

Year-Round LearningWe are committed to you 48 weeks of the year so you can keep up your progress and momentum year-round.

Flexible Scheduling—Can’t make a lesson? Explorers can enjoy flexible make-up lessons so they won't miss out. If you can’t make a class, simply join another one at your next preferred time.

All-Inclusive Pricing – Everything is covered, from lesson resources to concert tickets, so you don’t have to worry about any extra payments popping up during the year!

Educated Teachers – Our teachers are educated, from Diploma’s to Bachelor's degrees. You can be sure that they know their stuff when it comes to music.

Learning Resource Hub – Perhaps one of our favourite inclusions. Students have 24/7 access to our resource hub for additional learning, trying out another instrument, or getting additional support when you aren’t with your teacher. All Replay Music and Performing Arts Academy made or hand-selected for it’s value.

Learning Resources and Materials – Don’t worry about forking out hundreds of dollars for books, we have you covered. Anything you need to learn is included.

“My girls have been learning music at replay academy for two years. They learnt and grew a lot in music. The teachers are amazing. The facility is fantastic given you feel like proper school facility unlike private house or so. The manger Janaye is so professional as in dealing with any concern and accepting feedbacks.”

Explorers FAQs

  • Our Explorers curriculum runs for one year, with an extended learning second-year option. It is best to complete the whole year, but if you decide to stop lessons or move to our Establish Program you can do so at any time during the year.

  • We often find children around in this age bracket thrive at learning through social interaction. Participating in a group allows our youngest students the chance to discover what they love about music and build a healthy and positive relationship with the subject from day one, with peers.

  • Most children in this age bracket are starting their first music lessons and often might have an idea of what they want to learn but don’t truly know yet.

We know that instrument choice is vital for a student’s future success and enjoyment in the subject so having a chance to discover this for themselves will also help them make informed decisions about their musical preferences.

As instruments are so vastly different trying out different types allows students to discover which one they enjoy most and solidifies their confidence in knowing they will continue to enjoy the instrument in the future.

This has proven to aid future success and enjoyment for our students.

  • You’re in luck! We also run instrumental and singing lessons through our Establish program, and we take students from 5 years old.

  • If you are on the fence and are unsure which program will suit you best please let us know. We are happy to discuss this with you.

Often the best way to know what works best is to give it a try. Talk to us about taking a trial class in one or both programs, and we will assist you in making the best choice for your child.
